"A man must be morally righteous, or he will not earn the trust of his friends."

Today, I related the events of a previous misadventure with a close friend of mine. I was not entirely honest leaving out small details which could 'undermine' my position. After all this time, I'm still not fully honest.

I must learn that there is nothing to lose with being honest, that honesty is by itself a virtue and a value. That if others do not accept the truth of you, it is by no fault, yours for being honest for as long as you repent and abstain from commiting the crime. They are entitled to an opinion, and you cannot change that, nor the sin that was commited. You can only make ammends.
